Cancer Tales
Nell Dunn’s plays, Cancer Tales, portray the experiences of those with cancer and their families and carers, at each step along their cancer journey. Through these real and personal accounts, the need for better communication between healthcare professionals, patients and their families becomes clear.
Resources on the Cancer Tales site include:
- Cancer Tales workbook
Users can request copies of a workbook based on the Cancer Tales plays, developed to assist medical professionals across a range of specialties, including primary care and specialist nurses, general practitioners and secondary care physicians. - Cancer Tales eLearning resource:
The eLearning resource has been developed as a tool to support qualified and non-qualified healthcare professionals involved in the management of cancer. Building upon themes arising from the Cancer Tales play, it provides interactive exercises for users to reflect upon their own practice and generate action plans to improve communication with their patients in the future.
"The Cancer Tales workbook is a valuable new method to inform and teach healthcare professionals to help patients with cancer through their experience. It has already received good feedback from palliative care specialists, which I feel is well earned."
Professor Lukas Radbruch – Past president of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC)
